As we approach the end of the year, it feels like the perfect moment to look back on some of Rainbow Blades’ standout memories from 2025.
In February, we enjoyed an incredible night at the Football v Homophobia Awards 2025, where Rainbow Blades won Supporters’ Group of the Year, and our founder was named the FvH Hero. A proud moment for everyone involved.
Also in February, we marked the EFL Rainbow Ball campaign and Football v Homophobia Month of Action. Highlights included the EFL Rainbow Ball campaign film featuring Rainbow Blades and Rainbow Owls taking part in a 5-a-side game, a matchday film at SUFC with Rainbow Blades and Zander Murray, and the delivery of Football v Homophobia education sessions with Sheffield United Community Foundation in local primary schools.
In May, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary, marking five years of Rainbow Blades. The special event took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Bramall Lane and was attended by over 100 guests.
Across the year, our partnership with Sheffield United Community Foundation continued to thrive, offering inclusive football sessions that welcomed people of all genders and backgrounds. Many took part for the first time, feeling safe, having fun, and improving their mental and physical health.
