Rainbow Blades was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of SUFC Women’s player Maddy Cusack. At the club since 2019, she recently surpassed 100 appearances as a Blade and was named Vice-Captain for the current campaign.
Not only a leader on the pitch, Maddy was also a big advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion – featuring in our Proud Allies film and supporting other campaigns over the years.
We plan to pay tribute to a dedicated member of the Blades family at United Women’s next home game on 8 October at Bramall Lane. Sending love to her family, friends and teammates at this very difficult time. Rest in Peace, Maddy.
