Today's column is by Rainbow Blades ally Andrew Hague. Andrew is known for his website roysviewfrom.com and as one half of the BladesPod podcast.
Hello fellow Blades fans. My first trip to The Lane to follow United was in 1988. I don’t recall much about that game but my dad informs me that we beat Bury 2-1 with a certain Chris Wilder scoring the winner with a penalty.
Since that day I've witnessed many highs and lows as a Unitedite, but the one thing I have always longed for is to see United win a game at Wembley. The Play-Offs is the best opportunity of this dream coming true. Yes, we can all recount the heartbreak of past experiences at The Home Of Football but that will make things even sweeter when we do succeed.
And we will succeed. As Chris Wilder has alluded to, somebody, some day, will lead United to victory at Wembley. So why not the bloke who scored in my first ever game?
Let's back the team tonight and do the same again if we reach Wembley. You never know, we may be about to witness Blades history.
